4 New Tunis Lambs!!

Sunday, May 13th, 2012 we got 4 new Tunis sheep from Ferm Family Farms . . .thank you so much Ted & Amy Ferm for the sheep!!

Here are some pictures ~

This is G1 Gabrielle, one of the ewe lambs. She has EXCELLENT conformation, is HUGE (she is the biggest out of all of them) and is very nice and big and muscular (she is one of my favorites).

This is G2 Gazelle, another one of the ewe lambs. She is a bit smaller then her sister (G1), but is still VERY nice and has great conformation (I think she will catch up to her sister).

Here is Ira, the ram lamb. He is registrable, has great conformation and is VERY nice and big and muscular (I am very pleased with him).

And this is Camille, another one of the ewe lambs. This ewe lamb is registrable, has great conformation and is nice and big and meaty.

Just doing a quick post . . . sorry for not posting for awhile.

On Tuesday, April 24th, 2012. We traded a Tunis/Katahdin ram lamb for 2 Katahdin cross ewe lambs. One is a December born Katahdin cross ewe lamb and the other is a February born Katahdin cross ewe lamb.

They both are very nice and have great conformation and coloring.

Daisy Lambed ~ April 28th , 2012!!

On Saturday, April 28th, 2012 when we got home from somewhere I went and let the ewes and lambs out of there pen where we had them. I didn't see any new lambs born (I did not really look very good either), so I went back in side. Then a little bit later I looked out the kitchen window and saw Daisy standing down in the pen with a lamb next to her side. So, I went out there and she had two beautiful lambs already dried and nursing. She had probably had them about an hour ahead of time.

The sire to the lambs is Gomez, a Painted Desert ram and the dam is Daisy, one of our Painted Desert ewes.

This is the ewe lamb.

 Here is the ram lamb.

Here are both the lambs.

Frosty Lambed ~ April 27th, 2012

Well, on Friday, April 27th, 2012 when we got home, me and my mom went down to check on Frosty to see if she had lambs. And sure enough when I looked in the shed where she was, she had one lamb already on the ground and was pushing another one out.

She had twins, one beautiful ewe lamb and one ram lamb.

The sire to the lambs is Gomez, a Painted Desert ram and the dam is Frosty, one of our Painted Desert ewes.

Here are some pictures ~

The ram lamb is the one with the most white and the ewe lamb is the more colorful one.

Izzy Lambed ~ April 24th, 2012!!

Well, on Tuesday, April 24th, 2012 I was outside just enjoying the day over by our chicken coop and then I looked up over at the pen where Izzy was and there was lamb on the ground. So, I hopped the H-post and went over there and sure enough she had a beautiful black and white single ewe lamb. She probably had her about 25 or 30 minutes before.

The sire to the lamb is Panda, one of our Finnish Landrace rams and the dam is Izzy, one of our Jacob ewes.
