The 20 new ewes!

Well, Monday (11-29-10) we picked up 20 new ewes. In the bunch of ewes there are - Painted Deserts, Texas Dalls, Desert Sands, a couple Jacobs and a few Corsicans. We are keeping 13 of them and are selling 7 of them, if you are interested in buying any ewes go to our For Sale page to see pictures and prices.  All of these ewes are most likely bred to a Texas Dall ram with 40" horns also.

Here are some pictures of the ewes that we are keeping ~

This is the Texas Dall ram with 40" horns that all of the ewes are most likely bred to.

I will try to post more pictures later:)

Have a good week!!

Clyde

***** We not longer own Clyde *****

Clyde is a Painted Desert ram. He is registered with the PDSS (Painted Desert Sheep Society). He is a medium sized ram with great conformation, his horns are a bit on the smaller side, but are still nice. He has GREAT bases though. Clyde is white with cinnamon and black and also has variegated horns. He is about 4 years old, he was born in the early spring of 2009. Clyde's registered name is Little Hills Clyde F-1868. We no longer own Clyde. We traded him for a Desert Dragon ram back on February 27, 2011.

Here are few pictures of him ~

These pictures are not recent at all. Clyde has grown a LOT since these pictures where taken.

Amy

***** We no longer own Amy *****

Amy is one of our Painted Desert ewes, she is registered with the PDSS (Painted Desert Sheep Society) registry. She was born in the spring of 2008. Amy is on the smaller side of our ewes, she does not have the greatest conformation but has fairly good conformation, she is still a nice ewe though. Her udder is very nicely sized and shaped. Her registered name is Little Hills Amy F-1867. Amy is white with fawn and black, and she has a small mane (which is not very common for ewes to have I believe). Amy's dam is Little Hills Frosty BK-4, Frosty is fawn with black points and badger face (Corsican in appearance but with paint background).

Here are a few pictures of her ~

These are not recent pictures.

Cathy

***** We no longer own Cathy *****

Cathy is another one of our Painted Desert ewes. She is also registered with the PDSS registry. Cathy is a very nice ewe, has great conformation, and has a great udder attachment and also has a very nice and big udder for a Painted Desert. She was born in 2007. Her registered name is Little Hills Cathy F-1866. Cathy is a BEAUTIFUL cinnamon with charcoal and minimal white colored ewe. I do not know who Cathy's sire or dam are.

Here are a few pictures of her ~

The next three pictures are when she was still shedding her coat out.

Malibu

***** We no longer own Malibu *****

Malibu is a dairy ewe. She is over 90% East Friesian. Her personality is VERY good, and is pretty sweet . . . .except for when she gets a little pushy:) Malibu has had twins every time she has lambed. Her udder is very nice for a dairy ewe, she is a pretty big girl. Malibu had twin ram lambs in March of 2011 and I milk her by hand with no complications. She gave about 3/4 of a gallon to 1 gallon of milk a day. Malibu is 6 years old and has been wormed about 3 or 4 times in her 6 years of life.

~ Here are a few pictures of her ~

These pictures of her where taken in July of 2010.

Frosty

***** We no longer own Frosty *****

Frosty is a big 4 year old registered Painted Desert ewe. She is a nice-sized ewe with good conformation, throws beautiful lambs and is built very athletically. Frosty is a beautiful fawn with black points and badger face (Corsican in appearance but with paint background) colored ewe. Frosty is the dam to Appalachia and Amy and is the grandma to Caraballo (Amy's daughter). She has a very nice udder with a good attachment. Her registered name is Little Hills Frosty BK-4. Frosty was born in 2007. I do not know who Frosty's dam or sire are.

~ Here are a some pictures of Frosty ~

The pictures below are of Frosty when she was on day 152, when she was pregnant with her 2011 lambs.
